The Weekly Newsletter for Heart of Houston Birth and Wellness Families
Season of Gratitude
Happy Monday dear ones. Can you believe we are in the final stretch of 2021? Pretty sure this year has been the longest shortest year on record. We ended last year with the birth of our very first Heart of Houston baby, Hattie, and just last night Rowan and Mary ushered in another precious life into the world. We've been so fortunate to meet 30 babies so far this year and we still a month and some change to go. The birth center has gone from a quiet space with the occasional bit of excitement to a bustling hub of birth, community and celebrations. Thank you to each and everyone of you who've played a role in this incredible year. We are so very proud of this beautiful community and we cannot wait to see what 2022 brings. We hope that you can enjoy this beautiful weather and time with family and friends. Mary, Bethany, Rowan and I would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Bring on the pie!
Events for December
Our friend Nina Spears founder of Baby Chick will join our pregnancy group on December 19th to share her picks of all the must haves for new parents. Nina has over a decade of experiance in assisting families with pregnancy preparation and planning. She plans on bringing in a couple of examples of your options for newborn care, baby wearing, feeding your baby and caring for yourself postpartum. We're super excited to have her at the birth center and can't wait to see what goodies she'll bring for you all to try out. This event is exclusively for HOH clients and Whole Heart Collective Members. Please RSVP.
This weekend
Don't forget this Saturday the 27th Joanna Zepeda is back for another Stretch and Dance class from 10:30-12. Jo's class is a combo of grounding, sharing and movement. You do not want to miss this class. Fee is $15 for HOH clients and $20 for everyone else. Come stretch out that pumpkin pie and make a few friends. RSVP to join the fun.
Sunday the 28th we'll have a couple of the doulas from of Premier Doulas of Houston here to walk us through the stages and phases of labor. We encourage you and your support team to attend for some hands on practice of comfort techniques. This is will also be a great chance to meet a couple of super fun doulas and ask questions if you are considering hiring a doula for your team. Please RSVP if you plan on attending.
Coming Soon!
I'm planning a baby gear swap for January 16th! This will be your chance to clear out all the old stuff your baby has grown out of just in time to make room for all the new things they acquired over the holidays. More details in the next Bumpdate.
